In the D23 panel at the Marvel Animation Sneak Peek event, Brad Winderbaum, Head of Marvel Streaming, Television, and Animation, took the stage to reveal a look at what fans can expect from Marvel Animation over the next two years. The announcement included updates on some of the most anticipated series, including the final season of What If…?, the second season of X-Men ’97, the newly announced Eyes of Wakanda, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

The event was a star-studded affair, with Winderbaum joined on stage by some of the talent bringing these animated stories to life. Cal Dodd, who reprises his role as Wolverine in X-Men ’97, and Lenore Zann, returning as Rogue, were on hand to discuss the return of these beloved characters. Winderbaum also introduced filmmakers Bryan Andrews, director and executive producer for What If…? and the upcoming Marvel Zombies series; Todd Harris, director and executive producer of Eyes of Wakanda; and Ryan Coogler, the acclaimed director of Black Panther and producer of Eyes of Wakanda. Coogler’s involvement in the series has sparked significant interest, as fans are eager to see how the rich world of Wakanda will be expanded in this new animated format.

One of the panel’s highlights was the introduction of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, a new animated series focusing on Peter Parker’s early days as Spider-Man. Head writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell took the stage to share some exciting casting news. Hudson Thames will voice Peter Parker/Spider-Man, while Colman Domingo will bring a new take on Norman Osborn to the series. Both actors made a surprise appearance on stage, much to the delight of the audience.

As the panel came to a close, fans were treated to a surprise sneak peek at the highly anticipated Marvel Zombies series.
