Avengers: Infinity War will likely bring with it a cinematic spectacle the likes of which have never been seen, but it will also mark the beginning of the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. We are sure to lose at least one of our favorite heroes, and when the final Avengers film hits next year, though Marvel still has big plans in the works, in many ways it will feel like an ending. The brilliant Kevin Feige recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and talked about the concept of an ending:
“The notion of an ending, the notion of a finale, became very intriguing to us, in large part because you don’t see it that often in this particular genre.”

While Feige’s words are somewhat vague they do lean toward fans getting some sort of closure with at least some of the Avengers. It isn’t easy to end or even bring a small amount of closure to a story, chances are you are going to please some fans and anger the rest. And as I said above, we all know that Marvel is going to continue to make movies, it’s just that we may be losing some of our oldest friends.
