According to the Barside Buzz Marvel has plenty of time to evaluate the current Kang situation and they won’t rush Doctor Doom as a replacement. The information comes from Alex P at TCC, who explained that despite some recent rumors there is no current plan to get rid of Kang and rush into Doom.
Here is what he claims across two social media posts.
“The way that Marvel is currently positioned in terms of upcoming releases, it gives them enough time to evaluate Kang, as well as give ample time for the resolution of the Majors situation with the case against him.
“He won’t be the main point of focus again until Phase 6.”

“I get everyone is excited for Doom. I am too. But I want him done RIGHT. And getting it right is NOT a rushed intro in F4 to then suddenly pop up in Kang Dynasty at the 11th hour and be God Doom in Secret Wars while all the heroes ask themselves “Who the hell is this guy?””

In this situation I agree with Alex’s opinion on not rushing Doom. However, I have no inside knowledge to be confident this won’t be the case. I still think if Majors is found guilty then the easiest option is just recast him. Find an actor much older perhaps and make it seems like an older version of Kang if need be. The most complicated way to deal with this would be to pivot on all their Kang plans and rush into Doctor Doom. I’m hoping Doom is the big bad of whatever the next Saga is in the MCU.

We should definitely get to know Doom a little in the Multiverse Saga, don’t get me wrong. Hell, I’d take a Doom solo movie to really introduce the new pinnacle bad guy. Doom could be around for years without us getting bored of him. He has interesting reasons to do what he does and if we follow his comic book arcs he also has the ability to ‘break good’ on occasion.
Long live God Emperor Doom I say. As far as I’m concerned, this is one writer who welcomes our new overlord. Yet, Kang is a great villain and no matter what happens with Majors, Kang needs to get beaten at the end of this Multiverse Saga.
As always, let us know what you think? The Buzz is Marvel has plenty of time to evaluate the current Kang situation and they won’t rush Doctor Doom as a replacement. Thoughts below as always.
