According to the latest Barside Buzz Marvel are still committed to Kang and Doom won’t replace the villain, plus Vision Quest will film in 2024. The information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon. To begin with, let’s look at the Kang story. There have been rumors Marvel were thinking about dropping Kang as the main villain of the Multiverse Saga due to issues surrounding actor Jonathan Majors.
However, here is what RPK says he’s heard.
“I heard from my sources that Marvel is still committed to Kang. It’s possible that they’ll do a recast, but they’re not leaving the character aside. If Doom appears in Secret Wars, he won’t be the main villain.”
I’d say RPK has about a 60/40 hit rate which isn’t bad. However, it is worth noting he beat all the trades to Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards this week, so…
I’ve said all along that the most simple solution here is to wait for the trial then sack Majors if guilty. After that, just recast the role. I know Majors is great as Kang, but there would be someone out there who can do a good job. It could also be easily explained through the Multiverse angle. As for Doom, it seems clear Doom will be set up as the key villain post-Multiverse Saga. Therefore it would be weird to pivot into Doom without a single tease so far. At least that’s my opinion, I’m sure if it had to be done it could be done.

Next up as a scheduling rumor as RPK says Vision Quest will finally start production next year in 2024. Obviously the SAG-AFTRA strike have ended. However, all these ‘in development’ projects need to find space to get off the ground. Hardly unexpected news, but you never know with how Marvel has been changing the way they do TV.
We’ve covered a few rumors about Vision Quest, but nothing too much has leaked thus far fort that show.
What do you think of this Barside Buzz then that Marvel are still committed to Kang and Doom won’t replace the villain? What about the news Vision Quest will film in 2024? Thoughts below as always.
