Marvel wants DeHaan and Dunst to reprise Spidey roles in MCU? Read on for more details.
Something is definitely going down with the Multiverse and connections between Sony’s movies and the MCU. We recently found out that Jamie Foxx was set to come back as Electro for Spider-Man 3. Now a new rumor from Daniel Richtman says that Marvel also want to see Kirsten Dunst and Dane DeHaan reprise their Spider-Man roles. DeHann played an awful (in my opinion) version of Green Goblin in Amazing Spider-Man 2. Dunst of course, played Mary Jane Watson in the original Spider-Man trilogy.
It sounds like a live-action Spider-Verse movie. However, according to Richtman, it’s not necessarily Spider-Man 3 the pair are wanted for. He does not give any hints to other movies, and does not even rule out Spider-Man 3. Check out this tweet from Cosmic_Marvel below, and then further down, Richtman’s response
Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane) & Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn from TASM 2) and possibly more actors will be portraying their old characters in upcoming MCU projects.

A bit misleading and I never said Spider-Man 3.

I could guess on one other possible movie that the pair could show up. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has seen rumors that alternate versions of known MCU characters could appear. Same Raimi, director of DS2 was also the director who worked with Dunst on that Spider-Man trilogy. However it also seems like Spider-Man 3 could also be a good bet?
We are just gonna have to wait and see on this one. I gotta say, I’m not so far in love with this while Multiverse thing. It’s interesting to see what DC are doing with the Multiverse in the DCEU. However, I already liked the MCU as it was. I guess I need to be open to what Marvel are doing and see how it goes? However, I did not like Jamie Foxx as Electro, DeHann as Goblin, nor Dunst as MJ. So you can probably imagine my trepidation about these possibilities. I worry that Sony’s influence on the MCU could be what kills it. I have no interest in the current version of Venom for example, because his origin story should be with Spider-Man first.
