Marvel’s New Daredevil Series Tops 500,000 Copies Sold

Marvel’s latest Daredevil relaunch is proving to be one of the publisher’s biggest success stories of 2026.

The current run from writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Lee Garbett has quickly become a breakout hit, earning strong reviews from critics and fans while posting impressive sales numbers. According to Marvel, the first three issues have collectively sold more than 500,000 copies, prompting multiple return printings for readers looking to jump aboard the series.

On July 29, Marvel will release new printings of the first three issues, including a fourth printing of the debut issue, which has already sold out through previous print runs. The new editions will feature special Marvel Television Variant Covers showcasing artwork inspired by Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, which is currently streaming on Disney+.

The strong performance highlights the growing excitement surrounding Matt Murdock across comics and television. While the Disney+ series has reintroduced the character to mainstream audiences, Phillips and Garbett’s comic run has carved out its own identity by presenting a bold new direction for the Man Without Fear.

The series has drawn attention for its fresh status quo, new challenges facing Matt Murdock, and the introduction of the mysterious villain Omen. The creative team’s approach has been praised for balancing accessibility for new readers with respect for the character’s rich history.

Phillips expressed gratitude for the response the book has received since its launch.

“Lee and I approached this book with so much love and excitement for Matt Murdock and his world,” Phillips said. “To be able to share that love with readers who are connecting so strongly with the story we’re telling is one of the greatest feelings, and I am so grateful for the support that has brought Daredevil into even more printings. I promise… we’re just getting started.”

Critical reception has been equally enthusiastic. Reviewers have highlighted the series’ confident storytelling, strong characterization, and willingness to take Matt Murdock in unexpected directions.

Comics Beat called the debut issue “a rock-solid debut” that captures the essence of the character while setting up intriguing future developments. Meanwhile, ComicBook.com praised Phillips and Garbett for having “a real vision for Daredevil.”

Other critics have pointed to the title’s ability to serve as both a fresh starting point and a continuation of the hero’s long-running legacy. AIPT Comics described the series as a fresh start that moves Matt Murdock in surprising directions, while Capes & Tights noted that the comic successfully welcomes newcomers without alienating longtime readers.

The sales milestone is particularly notable in today’s comic market, where sustained demand across multiple issues can be difficult to achieve. For Marvel, the success of Daredevil demonstrates the continued popularity of one of the publisher’s most enduring street level heroes and suggests readers are responding strongly to Phillips and Garbett’s creative vision.

With more printings on the way and the creative team promising even bigger developments ahead, Daredevil appears poised to remain one of Marvel’s hottest ongoing titles throughout the remainder of the year.

New printings of Daredevil #1, #2, and #3 arrive in comic shops on July 29.
