While many fans like me may be relatively lukewarm on some of Marvel’s TV productions like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but the work they’re doing on Netflix is arguably stronger than some of the best stuff seen from Marvel Studios in theaters. Sure, there’s not nearly as much spectacle on the Netflix series, but if you really want a chance to get to know your heroes, you’re likely to get more of that on television.

Over the past two years, Marvel Television and Netflix have given us two seasons of Daredevil, one season of Jessica Jones, and one season of Luke Cage. Next year, we’re set to get Iron Fist, The Punisher, and of course, the big team-up limited series The Defenders. For months now, there have been rumors that The Defenders would begin shooting in early November. in fact, that fact has been confirmed by actors at various points. However, there is something to be said about actually seeing the process in action, as it gives it a real tangibility.

The Daily Mail has snagged a couple of set shots showing Jessica Jones and Defenders stars Krysten Ritter and Rachael Taylor, who play Jessica Jones and Patricia Walker, respectively.

The set photos show the two friends walking down the street in New York. Jessica is sporting the leather jacket and light-colored jeans that we know so well from the Jessica Jones series, and Trish is, per usual, sporting a much classier look. The scene in question looks like a classic walk-and-talk through New York City, and we look forward to seeing how the scene plays out in the plot. Will it be early on in the series? That would be my personal assumption, given that Jessica doesn’t look like she’s engaged in any combat as of late, but you never know. These shows don’t necessarily have to have a traditional structure, so there’s no telling when this could take place.

The Defenders is set to hit Netflix in 2017.
