We’ve finally got a look at Marvel Studios’ first television special, the Halloween-themed Werewolf by Night at this year’s D23 at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim California. During the presentation, a new trailer, poster, and release date were revealed. You can check out the trailer below!
As a fan of classic horror, I love that classic vintage black and white monster movie look that the Werewolf by Night trailer offers. Also, growing up watching films in Spanish with my family, it’s exciting to see Gael Garcia Bernal star in a Marvel Studios project. Also, did you guys happen to catch Man-Thing?
Being that Werewolf by Night is shot in such an iconic classic way, I wish they would have at least a weekend where you could watch this on the big screen. That would be such a treat! Alas, it looks like it will be a lot of fun overall. I wonder what kind of classic movie monster callbacks (if any it will have)
At the D23 presentation director, Michael Giacchino joined Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige along with stars Garcia Bernal, and Laura Donnelly. Feige called the project “fun-scary”.

Bernal plays the title character in Werewolf by Night, Jack Russell. He has the ability to transform into a werewolf due to an ancient family curse while keeping his human intellect. He is a wandering hero that uses his powers to fight demons and other forces of evil. It is speculated that Donnelly is playing Elsa Bloodstone. Along with the already mentioned cast members, the names include Maya, Harriet Sansom Harris, and Eugenie Bondurant.
The character was created by Gerry Conway and Mike Ploog in 1972.
Marvel Studio’s Werewolf by Night‘s Disney+ Original Special premieres exclusively on their streaming service on October 7.
