Matt Reeves Shares His Favorite Batman Comics

Director of the upcoming film The Batman, Matt Reeves took to his Twitter account to acknowledge his favorite Batman stories. All of the titles mentioned by Reeves are held in high esteem by the comic book fans, so let’s hope this is where Reeves’ head is at as far as what he wants to bring to the big screen. Originally, the film was to star Ben Affleck who was also set to write and direct, but that proved to be quite the burden and Reeves has stepped in to take over the behind the camera duties, with Affleck (possibly?) reprising his role from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of  Justice and Justice League.

Other than Affleck the most rumored actor to take over as Batman has been Jake Gyllenhaal. As I said the film has already had it’s ups-and-downs and had its release date pushed out, and as far as I know there isn’t a script, though Reeves has said he does have a story in mind. While the DCEU has given us some fun, albeit troubled films, the overall quality doesn’t really come close to the universe Marvel has put forth. DC’s characters have tons of potential, it just hasn’t come together.
