Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ Officially Begins Production

I don’t think we count 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as the latest Batman film right? If you don’t count that film then the last solo Batman film is 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. With the popularity of Batman it seems that it’s always been a priority for Warner Bros. to pump out Dark Knight focused films. But as we know recently that has been a little harder due to the studios back and fourth on the direction they wanted to go.

Thankfully after Ben Affleck left the project, Matt Reeves stepped up to bring us his vision of Bruce Wayne and the City of Gotham. As we know his Batman will be played by Twilight alumni Robert Pattinson and some of his rogues like Catwoman, Riddler and Penguin who will be played by Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano and Colin Farrell.

With the script and the cast looking ready to go we got some great news via Reeves’ Twitter today! In a post earlier today he has confirmed with a photo that The Batman has officially began filming in London. The image for now confirms the title of the film and gives a possible first look at the font for the logo. You can check it out below!

As a life long Batman fan I am very excited to see this project underway. Although we have seen Affleck’s Batman in several of the DCEU films we haven’t had a line of solo Batman films since the Nolan trilogy. I look forward to seeing how the production of this film develops.
