MCU Mordo Death Scene Reportedly Cut From Multiverse Of Madness Opening | Barside Buzz

The latest Barside Buzz says the Doctor Strange 3 rumored plot will adapt the Time Runs Out comic book.

According to YouTube insider HeavySpoilers there was an MCU Mordo death scene cut from the very beginning of Multiverse of Madness. The Insider says they have heard that the movie at one time began with the 616 version of Mordo. In the scene, Mordo shows up looking for Wanda, to kill her. This would of course follow on from Doctor Strange post-credit scene with Mordo. Mordo would have met a sticky end once he attempted to go after Wanda. At least that’s the claim in the video below. This would serve to show how powerful Wanda is in the very beginning of the movie. Check out the transcript below if you don’t want to watch the full video.

“Now that the film is out though, I can say I know for definite that there was a scene with Mordo in it in which he went to visit Wanda at the start of the movie. If you cast your mind back to the end of Doctor Strange, then you’ll remember that the post-credits scene had him going on a quest to kill the Wizarding World worse than Fantastic Beasts did. In Multiverse of Madness, Strange even mentions how Mordo has been trying to kill him when he meets the Illuminati version. But, this is something that we’ve never seen and it’s definitely not something that he would really know about as Mordo never really said anything along those lines at their last meeting.”

“Now Mordo was going to be the main villain that showed up in the introduction to the movie. He’d be used to demonstrate Wanda’s new ruthless attitude. He would go to attack her and she’d turn him into mom’s spaghetti, beheading him within seconds of his arrival. It was going to be a big way to start the film and it instantly cemented Wanda as the villain.”

“From here, we would then jump to the gap junction, which is where we would be introduced to America Chavez and Defender Strange.”

Now, personally I am glad this scene was cut from the movie for two reasons. For one, I think as a movie experience it clues the audience in to Wanda’s state of mind too early. I mean before Strange visits her. Secondly, that would mean Mordo 616 is gone. Unless we get some Multiversal drop-ins in the future, that means no Mordo as an ongoing villain. I like the idea that at some point we will get a movie that will revolve around Mordo coming after Strange. Additionally, Wanda already kills an alt-version of Mordo in the movie. I prefer the idea that the 616 Mordo is still alive and causing trouble back home.

This information is not official and should not be treated as such. However, fans (online) have done a little bit of digging and seem convinced the Insider is accurate with this leak.

Perhaps we will get some clarification further down the line about Mordo’s fate? What do you think? Was there was an MCU Mordo death scene cut from the very beginning of Multiverse of Madness? Thoughts below or over on Discord as always.
