There’s been a lot of MCU rumors this weekend folks, in part 1 we have Cillian Murphy tipped for Doctor Doom and a confident Marvel predicts success for Deadpool 3. Plus we have a few other small ones to cover here and a Part 2 with even more rumors.
Let’s start with insider MTTSH who says she’s heard Marvel is after Oppenheimer Star Cillian Murphy to play Doctor Doom in the MCU.

Of course, Murphy, tipped for awards success this season, may be tough to get. One other name we’ve already shared with Doom’s casting rumors is Mads Mikkelsen. Either of these could pull off an awesome Doom. However, since this character should really wear a mask for 90% of the time do we need some mega star like Murphy and Mikkelsen?
According to another insider, CWGST, Doom may only be a small cameo in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie.

To be fair, I think this is what most fans already expected. We had heard from day one on Fantastic Four that Doom would not be the main villain.

Next up we have only one Marvel movie releasing in 2024. That movie is the as yet untitled Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. According to Daniel RPK on his Patreon service, Marvel are confident in success with Deadpool 3. This in part is internally why they are happy to have Deadpool 3 as the only release of 2024. They expect the movie to do well at the box office and excite fans for what is to come in 2025.
Meanwhile MTTSH says don’t expect to see Loki in Deadpool 3 despite the TVA involvement. Which, to be fair, is not a surprise at all, he’s a bit busy.

Here she says the Anya Taylor Joy rumor (related section above) is hardly definite. MTTSH heard they wanted that type for the role, not that she had been cast.

This rumor came from RPK’s Patreon, though I should point out lately this source has come through on some big stories. In fact, both have excellent hit rates right now. Ergo, situation unclear.
