Apparently, Danny Glover isn’t getting too old for this s**t, as back again is the possibility of a Lethal Weapon 5. Mel Gibson who is one part of the buddy-cop duo, known as Riggs and Murtaugh, along with Danny Glover are both said to be up for reprising their roles.
The talk of this sequel has been gestating for some time, but Richard Donner, who directed the four previous Lethal Weapon films, made it seem more likely than ever that the film will get made when he appeared on the SpockLight podcast:
“It’s a story I came up with with Channing Gibson, the writer who wrote 4, and I’m just having to work it out with the studio. If everybody steps up and we all get together, we’ll make it. Mel and Danny are on board. If it doesn’t work out, at least we tried. But there’s a better chance that you will see the movie.”
Why not, right? I would watch another Lethal Weapon sequel, and I think many others would too. It has been almost 20 years since the last Lethal Weapon film, and anyone who remembers the movie fondly will be likely to see this potential film.
Of course, this movie has already been made by the gang over at It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, if you haven’t seen it and are a fan of the Lethal Weapon franchise, I recommend watching it.
