In the Malone home, like many others, we’ve started the Halloween celebration early this year. After all this pandemic crap, we all need a little fun so why not go all out for the holidays this year. The house is decorated and now I need some great horror movies and TV shows to watch. Netflix is releasing an exciting horror series for us this month and just released another trailer for it. The Midnight Mass official trailer dropped yesterday and I can’t wait to see the series!

Midnight Mass’s synopsis:
From The Haunting of Hill House creator Mike Flanagan, MIDNIGHT MASS tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?

I know small town living can look creepy when struck with rural decay, but damn! Also, the use of the song, Somewhere Only We Know, was incredible. When I heard the song start playing in the trailer, it brought back retail flashbacks. Stores and radio really know how to overplay a song. But as the trailer went on and the adaptation took a dark turn, I felt it fit so well. It was hauntingly well done.
I can’t wait to know what the hell is going on in this island town? Who’s the human-looking robot lady in the beginning? Also, casually walking up to a burning house holding hands is freaking weird. Are they just stunned, is it no big deal, or is their world ending and they just give up? I can’t get a good read on those two. Also, the line, “I am so glad that you’ll be with us for what comes next,” definitely has my eyebrow raised. I guess I’ll find out in two weeks. Midnight Mass will have seven episodes and will be released on September 24.
