If anyone is reading this who is a regular reader on LRM, you probably know I am less than enthusiastic about Sony’s VenomVerse plans. I still haven’t seen Venom and have no intention of doing so. Therefore whilst I may not find this news exciting at all, you might well do and that’s what’s important. We know that Jared Leto will star in Morbius The Living Vampire for Sony. Leto will play the classic Spider-Man villain and again, like Venom this movie will not feature the wall-crawler at all. We also know that former Doctor Who star Matt Smith will play the antagonist in this movie and is expected to have similar powers to Morbius.
The movie is set in NYC, but probably for budget reasons is currently filming in Manchester, England which will be a stand-in for the Big Apple. If you have ever been to Manchester, you will wonder how this is possible, as the two cities are nothing alike. However, that’s movie magic for you, isn’t it? Below you can check out set-photos from two different posters on Twitter. One shows Morbius in costume and the other shows Matt Smith along with some other set photos.

As you can see Morbius’ costume seems inspired by a 2013 comic run, though I would think there is something more to Morbius when he transforms as producer Avi Arad said there would be a visible transformation in the character. One would assume if Matt Smith’s character has similar powers that he may also have a more comic-inspired look he transforms into also.
