We still don’t know very much about Star Wars: Episode 9, no trailer, no title, and very tight-lipped stars. all we have to go on so far are some vague potential leaks of information. We never know just how good these details are, but occasionally we hear something official which adds a bit of weight to a rumor.
One of the things rumored so far was that actress Keri Russel who plays an unknown role in the movie would be wearing a very cool purple/gold uniform or costume. Well, after Keri Rusell appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, we may have some weight to add to this and therefore the other rumors from the same source.
Check out the video above (it’s cued up to the Star Wars conversation, for your convenience), where she says, “I do have the coolest costume. I will say that.”
When asked by Colbert what the costume is, she quickly says “I can’t tell you.”
Of course, having a cool costume is one thing, having a cool character is another entirely. Captain Phasma played by Gwendoline Christie had a real cool costume in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, yet even the most ardent sequel trilogy fan would agree they did nothing with her character in either movie. Let’s hope Keri Russell has a larger and more relevant role in the plot of Episode 9.

Russell also almost slipped and revealed the name of the character she is due to play (but didn’t), and a lot of hype has been built that Russell will play Mara Jade or a similar character from the old EU stories. Though, I have heard nothing solid which would indicate why we should be speculating in this direction and it seems like wish fulfillment on some fans part here.
Hopefully, as April comes and moves on we will have the anticipated title of the movie along with perhaps the movies first teaser trailer. It’s long been guessed that these would be revealed at Star Wars Celebration which begins on April 11. Guess we don’t have too long to find out now?
