Netflix & WWE’s The Main Event Trailer And Images

As a kid (and let’s be honest) sometimes as an adult most of us at one point have daydreamed about being in a wrestling main event match. We’ve all thought about the bright lights and crowd that would greet us as we walked toward the ring. On April 10th, we are going to have the opportunity to see a boy’s journey to the WWE NXT Main Event. You can check out the trailer above and the poster below!

The Main Event is a collaboration between Netflix and WWE. The story follows an 11-year-old named Leo Thompson. played by Seth Carr. He is a huge wrestling fan that as we can see in the trailer is even bullied at school for being a wrestling fan. Things change when he discovers a magical luchador mask that grants him super strength.

With the support of his grandmother, played by Tichina Arnold, Leo then enters a WWE competition and does whatever it takes to make his dream of becoming a WWE superstar a reality. In the face of professional wrestlers, will this kid be able to make his dream a reality?

The Main Event is directed by Jay Karas. This is based on a screenplay by Larry Postel, Zach Lewis, Jim Mahoney, and Peter Hoare. The executive producers on the film are Susan Levison and Maggie Malina. Along with Carr and Arnold, the film also stars Adam Pally and Ken Marino. It features WWE superstars including Kofi Kingston, The Miz, Sheamus, Otis, and Keith Lee.

Technically this is still WrestleMania season. In a few weeks, we will have a pre-recorded two-night WrestleMania 36 event with no crowd. But hats off to WWE for trying to make it happen even though it could be horrible. This film is a great follow up to that weekend as many kids dream of one day reaching WrestleMania.
