New Avengers 4 Set Photos Hint At A Flashback

JustJared has released a new batch of set photos for Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero team-up flick, Avengers 4 — and the photos acually tease at something potentially interesting.

Take a look at some of the photos below:

At first it’s not quite apparent what we’re looking at — most of the photos just show off a long-haired, classically-dressed Thor and Tony Stark, It’s not until a few photos in that we can see that Loki is walking around, cuffed and gagged as he was at the end of the first Avengers film. This would seem to imply that they’re filming a flashback to around the end of the film, though it’s kind of impossible to tell what it means, as the overall context of the scene still isn’t clear. From the looks of it, they may be in some sort of government agency of sorts — with the armed guards and U.S. soldiers walking around.

At the end of the first Avengers film, it seemed to be pretty quick turnaround between them capturing Loki and them taking him back to Asgard to pay for his crimes. But of course, given the more montage-esque nature of that film, there is plenty of wiggle room for them to fudge with the timeline in a different way.

Any thoughts on what this flashback could entail? Let us know down below!
