Already establishing himself as The Daily Planet‘s Editor-in-Chief Perry White in Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Laurence Fishburne is no stranger to the world of superheroes. Fishburne is set to make his next appearance in a superhero film in next year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, playing Bill Foster. The actor recently spoke with Collider, and let fans in on a secret project he is working on with Marvel.
“I’ve got Black-ish going on, I’m developing something else for Marvel that I can’t talk about. It’s gonna be really cool. It’s gonna change the world, we hope (laughs). I went to Marvel and pitched them something that really couldn’t work out—there was a lot of legal red tape that just [was] something they couldn’t work out. But then they came back with the offer for Ant-Man and the Wasp and then they said, ‘Hey, what do you think of this?’ and I went ‘Oh yeah that, yes!’ so…”

While Fishburne is probably too old to play a superhero himself at this point, he could play some sort of a prominent mentor figure. Fishburne’s words have me intrigued for sure, what could this project be?
Judging by Fishburne’s excitement for what Marvel threw back at him, it sounds like this is going to be big, perhaps not change the world as Fishburne jokingly implied, but big enough to get Fishburne excited and to keep it all a big secret.
