New Birds Of Prey Set Photos Reveal The Birds And Black Mask

Birds of Prey is well into production by this point. Against all odds, this Harley Quinn-led film managed to get the jump on other big characters like Batman and Superman, really highlighting the fact that DC Films is interested in exposing the general public to newer, lesser-known characters (which makes sense that this is the exact same mindset that led to Marvel Studios’ success…among other things).

At the start of the filming, the studio released a teaser that looked a hell of a lot more like the Derelicte Fashion Show in Zoolander than it did a typical DC film. But, of course, that hasn’t made some fans any less excited to see a new band of female heroes take center stage. Hollywood Pipeline has released a whole new batch of photos from the set.

But HarleyMovieNews posted a bunch of them on Twitter, which you can check out below.

There are a few takeaways here. First is a distant look at the Birds of Prey themselves. However, the biggest one I see is our first look at Black Mask. It’s hard to tell, but it looks like he is waring at least a partial mask in this scene. Other photos on the site proper show off a scarred Ewan McGregor, so it’s definitely the villain. The other big one is that it appears Black Mask has taken Cassandra Cain hostage and that Harley Quinn may be out to rescue her.

What do you think of the new images here? Obviously, it’s impossible to judge a film by set photos, but do they fill you with any more confidence? Let us know your thoughts down below!
