Marvel Studios certainly knows how to do spectacle right. In 2014, they managed to surpass all expectations with a relatively unknown property called Guardians of the Galaxy. While hardly anyone knew about this B-list property, it managed to connect with moviegoers all over the world in a big way. Not only did it have the sweet spectacle one expects from a science fiction flick, along with a lot of heart and humor.

About a month ago, director James Gunn shared a stellar little teaser he labeled as a “Sneak Peek,” and last Saturday, the official teaser trailer dropped. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out below, and check in with me after the break.

I’m not sure if this is surprising to you or not, but this new trailer was pretty darn popular. But just how popular is it? While the video embedded above may only have around 7 million views as of this writing, the actual number (Which, I’m assuming, accounts for several videos spread across the web) is closer to 81 million…within the first 24 hours. Don’t believe me? Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn is the one who’s touting the number.

Check out his Facebook post below!

As mentioned above by Gunn, this doesn’t only mark a big success for the film, but it marks the second biggest teaser trailer ever, beaten

only by Beauty and the Beast. Needless to say, people seem to be pretty excited for the film, and it helps that the teaser trailer itself was all kinds of fun. Let’s hope the film itself can live up to the hype and the numbers.

What did you think of the new trailer? Is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 shaping up to the sequel you’d hoped it would be? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
