New She-Hulk Supporting Roles Reveals Possible Villain

The minute the Avengers: Endgame credits began to roll, fans immediately began to speculate what Marvel’s Phase 4 would look like. Even with Covid slowing the process down, Phase 4 is a fine tuned machine and is pushing through. Projects from films, animated series and other live-action series range from completed shoots to pre-production. Fans have a good deal to look forward to. One of those projects that I am excited for is She-Hulk, which is set to begin shooting in February of 2021. However, there has been little information aside from Tatiana Maslany donning the lead role with Mark Ruffalo possibly appearing as Bruce Banner. But recently The Illuminerdi reveals new She-Hulk supporting roles including a possible villain!

Supporting Roles

She-Hulk: All Scripts For Disney+ Series Are Now Completed

Let’s take a look at the new She-Hulk supporting roles. First, Jennifer Walters’ parents who are said to be in their 60s. Another addition is a male c0-worker who is said to be in his 20s-30s who is sweet and attractive. A more comedic role will go to Walters’ best friend “Susie” who will more than likely be Asian-American.

While these roles do not scream excitement, the interesting character to continue speculation revolves around “Lucy”. At this point, “Susie” and “Lucy” are codenames, so the showrunners continue to be cryptic with their information. However, “Lucy” looks to be the primary villain for the initial season as the character will appear in five to ten episodes. A description expresses that the villain will be a gorgeous social media influencer in her 30s, but with a dark side to her…meh. Seems a bit underwhelming to me, but maybe (hopefully) this is a façade and there will be more to the character. There is some speculation that could suggest otherwise.

Villain Speculation

While the She-Hulk supporting role initially seems underwhelming, there is speculation that “Lucy” could be more than meets the eye. The Illuminerdi suggests that the role could actually be one of the following:

Titania

Mary MacPherran is a bullied individual and during the Secret Wars she met Doctor Doom who promised her powers in return for her help. Using alien technology, Doom gave her the power of a mythical titan making her grow over a foot as well as gaining superhuman strength, speed, agility and endurance. Working with Doom leads to her initial encounter with She-Hulk which results in an intense, lasting rivalry.

Ultima

Ultima is one of She-Hulk’s earliest foes. She is trained by her father, The Word, and gains superhuman strength through meditation and discipline (is that all it takes?). She is also a member of her father’s cult. How did their rivalry begin? Well over a man of course. Ultima fell in love with a man named Randolph Harrison. She saw Jennifer Walters having a conversation with him and her jealousy took over. This resulted in an altercation between Walters and Ultima in which The Word persuaded Randolph to help Ultima. In doing so, a car is almost dropped on Randolph, but Ultima steps in to save him which paralyzes her. As The Word nurses his daughter back to health, he uses his powers to enhance her strength, endurance and speed, which is harnessed through her self-confidence.

Based on their character descriptions, I think “Lucy” could be Ultima. The character is one of She-Hulk’s earliest villains. Also, the addition of the good looking, male-supporting character could possibly be a version of Randolph Harrison. Couple that with the Ultima enhancing her powers through her self confidence, and “Lucy” is a social media influencer, this could be a working match.

What do you think of the She-Hulk supporting roles? Do you think “Lucy” could be one of She-Hulk’s rogues gallery? Possibly Titania or Ultima? Or, do you think it could be someone else? Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading! I also want to wish you and your families a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
