It probably comes as no shock that Paramount isn’t done with the Transformers movies. While Bumblebee didn’t break any box office records, if you thought it would be the last one to hit then you haven’t been paying attention to Hollywood for the past decade. Anything with any semblance of a pulse will get reworked, repackaged, or reimagined for the big screen soon enough, and with Bumblebee boasting the strongest narrative of the franchise, you know they’d be working hard to continue their streak.
So, what’s their next move? They’re hiring two writers to write scripts for more Transformers films. It’s not clear whether or not they’ll continue the world established in Bumblebee (which could be seen as a soft reboot) or if they’ll be creating their own thing. The first writer in question is Joby Harold, who co-wrote Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, which will eventually hit Netflix. The next writer is James Vanderbilt, who wrote David Fincher’s Zodiac.

It’s not clear just how they will be working, but THR states that these hires will give the franchise “a chance to build out multiple arcs and also expand the Transformers universe.” So, will they be working on one movie? One movie each? Multiple stories? Only time will tell!
