LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with writer and director Chad Ferrin. We talked about getting this indie film off the ground, Susan Priver, practical effects, nods to old horror films, and the vintage stuff throughout the film.
In 1988, Chad Ferrin sold his home in Minnesota to finance his first film Unspeakable. He joined Troma Entertainment for a few years to produce, write and direct. Once again, he sold his 1968 Ford Mustang to finance his cult favorite indie hit The Ghouls. Afterward, he followed up with Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!, a dark humor social commentary. In 2009, he finished a psychedelic grind-house style film Someone’s Knocking at the Door that landed on the film festival circuit. Ferrin was hired in 2015 to adapt the graphic novel The Chair to the big screen. Then he followed up with a few more films, including Fantasia Festival hit Parasites, horror-comedy Exorcism at 60,000 Feet, and H.P. Lovecraft’s The Deep Ones.
Night Caller is currently available on digital platforms, including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, iNDemand, and DISH today.
