A mother’s loss of a child would certainly put her in psychological hell. In The Twin, one mother becomes protective of her child as the boy’s dead twin brother haunts them.
The film stars Teresa Palmer (A Discovery of Witches, Warm Bodies, Lights Out) and Steven Cree (A Discovery of Witches, Outlander) in this Scandinavian horror tale that blends the psychological with the supernatural.
In The Twin, following the aftermath of a tragic accident that claimed the life of one of their twins, Rachel (Palmer) and her husband Anthony (Cree) relocate to the other side of the world with their surviving son in hopes of building a new life. What begins as a time of healing in the quiet Scandinavian countryside soon takes an ominous turn when Rachel begins to unravel the torturous truth about their son and confronts the malicious forces attempting to take a hold of him.
Tenli Mustonen directed the movie from the script written by Mustonen and Aleksi Hyvarinen. It also marked the English-language debut for Mustonen.
