Nope Trailer Reveals Upcoming Killer Storm

Nope

Jordan Peele has a knack for crafty horror films that’ll keep you guessing even before watching the film. Since his directorial debut with Get Out in 2017 and his sophomore film Us, horror fans itched for the next installment in the horror genre. This time around, it comes in the natural horror phenomenon movie with Nope.

As with every marketing promotion with Peele’s films, very few details are revealed to keep potential audiences guessing.

The first official trailer reveals brewing trouble from the skies in rural areas around a horse ranch. Apparently, it has something to do with a storm cloud that could suck the wind and lift objects off the ground like a tornado. Then again, it could be an intelligent storm cloud that chases after its victims.

The film reunites Peel with Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Judas and the Black Messiah), who is joined by Keke Palmer (Hustlers, Alice) and Steven Yeun (Minari, Okja) as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bears witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.

Also, the movie co-stars Michael Wincott (Hitchcock, Westworld) and Brandon Perea (The OA, American Insurrection).

It’ll be interesting to guess the twists and turns from this film Nope. Peele has established himself as great storytelling and opened the horror genre towards Blacks as the leads. Keke Palmer will surprise audiences in her more serious performance sides. Her performance in the modern slavery film Alice demonstrated her shift towards dramatic roles rather than the more known side of comedy we’re all used to. So, a film like Nope will show Palmer can star in different genres.

Nonetheless, Peele fans should be ready for Nope in theaters on July 22.
