Obi-Wan Kenobi Cinematographer Revealed?

Has the Obi-Wan Kenobi cinematographer been revealed? According to a new article from South Korean website Cine21, Chung-hoon Chung’s next project will indeed be Obi-Wan Kenobi. We caught the translation of this story from SWNN.

Chung’s previous works include Oldboy, Hotel Artemis, Zombieland: Double Tap, and he has just finished filming Uncharted with Tom Holland. If this report is accurate, Chung would be the first Korean cinematographer to have worked on a Star Wars project.

Yesterday we shared a story from star Ewan McGregor where he gave the start date for production as Spring. Obi-Wan Kenobi will also film in LA confirmed McGregor, so could Chung be heading that way soon? Obi Wan Kenobi will be directed solely by Deborah Chow. Chow was director on two episodes of The Mandalorian Season 1. SWNN has reached out to Lucasfilm for confirmation, but as always that won’t happen until Lucasfilm decide the time is right. In the meantime I have to say I find this highly probable, for now.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Cinematographer

This would be the first time Chung has worked with Disney’s The Volume. The Volume is the technology that Lucasfilm created for making The Mandalorian. This technology is set to be used on a variety of Star Wars and Marvel properties going forward. The Volume allows the actors to feel like they are in a an environment that does not really exist. However, very few pro’s will have worked with The Volume so far, so I’m sure Chung will adapt accordingly. that’s if this rumor actually checks out. I do have a good feeling about this one mind you. That does not really count for much though does it?

What do you think of Chung-hoon Chung, is he the Obi-Wan Kenobi cinematographer you can get excited about. As always, leave any thoughts below.
