Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Description Is…Intriguing!

John Williams Star Wars Music Used On Set Of Obi-Wan Kenobi

The recently released Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ description is a little intriguing. If you check Disney+, Obi-Wan Kenobi is now listed and you are able to view the trailer. The description for the show reads as follows.

During the reign of the Galactic Empire , former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.

Now if you have been following some of the plot leaks from this show, without going into them, you’ll know Obi-Wan has to leave Tatooine on a mission. However the intriguing part of this description is about allies turned enemies. What former allies of Kenobi are now enemies? The most obvious answer would be a certain Darth Vader of course and it’s not like people don’t know Vader is in this. However that doesn’t feel like the language which would be used for Vader. Therefore, the fan base has been speculating and the two favorite possibilities are as follows.

The Inquisitors

Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Description Is...Intriguing!

We know there are many Inquisitors in Obi-Wan Kenobi and if you’ve seen the trailer you’ve seen them in action. For those that might not know, it is said all the inquisitors are former Jedi who were turned rather than killed during Order 66. Is it therefore possible Obi-Wan will remember some of them from their time as Jedi? That would certainly qualify as an ally turned enemy. And if this is the case, then it’s really not that intriguing after all.

Cody

However it is clear that what the fan base seems to want this to mean is an appearance from Commander Cody, aka Temuera Morrison. Aside from Rex, I think Cody is the Clone who fans would most like to see. Given the relationship Kenobi and Cody had during the Clone Wars it would be dramatic for Obi-Wan to be hunted by Cody. The last time the pair met was just before Order 66. When that fateful order came in, it was Cody who ordered Kenobi shot by his fellow Clones. Obviously we know Obi-Wan survived Utapau and escaped, but Cody was not necessarily aware of that.

Honestly, I don’t feel there is a need to bring in Cody to make this show work. Obi-Wan Kenobi I’m sure will be more about Obi-Wan and Anakin than anyone else the Jedi knew from his past. However if there was a way to bring Cody in for some dramatic effect, why not?

At the end of the day though, this is all speculation based on nothing more than what you read above. Simplest option is this refers to the Inquisitors and without something else that would be my assumption. However you never know?

What do you think of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ description? Do you find it interesting or do you think fans are overreacting about a simple description? Thoughts below as always.
