Even prequel haters films will usually concede two things. The brilliance of John Williams and Ewan McGregor played a wonderful younger Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s a safe bet that most of you reading this article are well aware that McGregor is returning as the character in the upcoming series that will air on Disney+.

McGregor recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and discussed his recent visit to the set of The Mandalorian. While there McGregor did a screen test, for which he had to put on his Jedi apparel. You can check out what he had to say below.

“It was funny walking on set because it was a lot of The Mandalorian crew and I walked on, and it was a big moment… I walked into the dressing room and there were my beige cloaks and my belts and boots and it was like, ‘oh my God, it was my old costume’, it was amazing.”

While I love McGregor as Obi-Wan, I also love that he loves being the character.

While many of us think we should let the recent past of Star Wars die (the sequel trilogy), even kill it if we have to, there’s good reason to be excited for the future of a galaxy far, far away. Short term, The Mandalorian Season 2 is a week away now. The Rogue One spin-off series following Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor is expected to begin shooting soon.
