Olaf Presents | Josh Gad Shares With Us His Why Disney Films Are Special To Him

Olaf Presents from Walt Disney Animation Studios is the Olaf series you’ve always wanted. Even if you didn’t know it! Back in 2013 we were introduced to the lovable Olaf in Frozen. Since then we have seen him in more feature films, shorts, video games, and of course on Ice. Now as part of the Disney+ Day celebration we get this set of awesome shorts.

In Olaf Presents, we see our beloved Disney friend step into the spotlight and take on the role of producer, actor, costumer, and set builder. To what end? To retell some of our favorite classic Disney animated stories. Watch as Olaf takes on iconic roles like a mermaid, a genie, a lion king, and many more!

Josh Gad once again lends his voice for the beloved snowman for the series. During a press conference showcasing Oalf Presents that LRM Online attended, Gad shared to us what the Disney films mean to him.

“I was at that perfect age during the second golden age of Disney Animation.  I remember seeing The Little Mermaid in the theatre and being, like, ‘what is this?  Why?  It feels like a Broadway show on-screen.’” Said Gad. “It was like the first time I can remember applauding in a theatre after the songs were done.  So, getting to go back and specifically revisit those films was a dream come true.”

I think we can all relate to his feelings with whichever Disney film first crossed our paths. He goes on to talk about how special it was for him to retell the story of Aladdin as one of the voice actors was someone he considered an idol.

“Then getting to sort of play in the footsteps of my idol Robin Williams in the world of Aladdin. Hyrum and Jen can tell you that was sort of a pinch myself, very emotional experience for me”. Said Gad

Part of the magic of Disney has always been their ability to connect with audiences. Olaf Presents gives us the opportunity to revisit some of these films and pay tribute to them with a more modern beloved character. What will probably happen is that Olaf will excite the young ones (and young ones at heart) to revisit those classic films for a fun family moment.

Don’t miss out on Disney Animations’ Olaf Presents, exclusively on Disney+.
