Palm D’or Winner Titane Sets Release Theatrical Release Date for October 1

Titane

One critic described Julia Ducournau’s Titane as a cross between a David Cronenberg film and a Quentin Tarantino movie. Consider me sold on this grind house-looking film that just had its world premiere at the recent Cannes Film Festival 2021 and won the Palm d’Or award.

International critics are giving very high praise and remarks for this high-octane, sexy, and violent horror thriller. Not to mention that the last Palm d’Or Award-winning film Parasite went on to win the Oscars for Best Picture.

In a film like this, the studio prefers to release very little detail about the synopsis—leaving a strong desire to watch the movie for shock value with surprise.

Here’s the logline provided by NEON:

Titane: A metal highly resistant to heat and corrosion, with high tensile strength alloys, often used in medical prostheses due to its pronounced biocompatibility.

The film stars Agathe Rousselle and Vincent Lindon. Julia Ducournau wrote and directed the movie.

No doubt that this film is going to be the talk of art-house cinema as it gears up towards the awards season. For many people, they may find a film like this too strange and unpredictable. On the other hand, the cinematic sequences may be so shocking that you can’t help to only watch these scenes in awe.

Regardless, NEON Pictures set for the release of Titane in theaters beginning on October 1st in the United States. We’ll be the judge to this possible unusual and different film to hit the screens in a while. One thing for certain, everyone will discuss the film after the credits start rolling.
