In a recent interview, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director and star Peyton Reed and Jonathan Majors talk Kang and Scott Lang from the upcoming movie. Plus Reed also talks about Fantastic Four artwork he’s seen. The pair spoke to Somos Geeks as you can see from the video below. The actual interviews are in English with Spanish subtitles. However I won’t quote the full interview here, just the important pieces of information.
First off is that Majors was asked if Kang in Quantumania is the same one who is the main threat in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty? Problem is, Majors says he has absolutely no idea how to answer that question? Not because of spoilers, Majors simply does not know at this time. Majors then went on to talk about the chance to play different version of this character is exactly what hooked him to the role. Kang and He who Remains are described by Majors as being as different as Loki and Ant-Man.
On Ant-Man himself, director Peyton Reed talked about how this idea of this film is to put Scott Lang through the ringer. To force Lang to deal with things he’s never had to handle before. Therefore just when Lang thinks all is well in his life, events will take a serious turn.
Reed also spoke a little about the Fantastic Four. At one point, years ago, Reed worked on the movies back in the Fox days. In many ways Reed says that family dynamic is something he’s taken and placed into the Ant-Man series. However when it comes to the new version of Fantastic Four coming from director Matt Shakman, Reed had only this to say. He’s seen some artwork for the upcoming Fantastic Four and he says it looks great.

Meanwhile Majors also talked about how he can’t wait to face off against this new era of Avengers. Though he can’t name who that is as yet, Majors had praise for some of the newer faces that ‘could’ show up in Avengers 5. My guess is that Majors has not seen any kind of script for The Kang Dynasty yet. That would also explain why Majors has no idea which version of Kang is in that movie yet. However what is clear, though Reed is tentative to say too much, is that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the jump off point for what happens next. Welcome to Phase 5 of the MCU. This is where the Mulitiverse Saga kicks into high gear, or at least that’s what the fans hope.
Personally I can’t wait to see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. I just have a good feeling about this one. That means nothing in reality, but let’s hope it lives up the hype.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theatres on February 17th. That’s not too long away now.
What do you think as Peyton Reed and Jonathan Majors talk Kang, Scott Lang and Fantastic Four artwork? Thoughts below as always.
