James Bond. As a kid, I had heard of the secret agent adventures of a spy code-named 007. It wasn’t something I really got into back then but knew about the character from parodies done of television show and cartoons. However, in high school, Nintendo dropped a game on their N64 console that I consider to be one of the best video games of all-time, GoldenEye 007.
The game was of course based off the film that gave the franchise new life and starred Pierce Brosnan. Having never seen a Bond movie, I had just always pictured a guy in my head. Oddly enough, Pierce Brosnan was pretty damn close to I had imagined all those years.
Brosnan was a great 007, and was a big part of the franchise’s newfound success and did much to give his own career a boost. It’s been quite a while since Brosnan was involved with the film series but during a recent Goldeneye watch party the actor was asked if he would return to the franchise, as a villain. You can check out what he had to say below.
“Would I return as a villain? If asked, yes! I believe so.”

Now, this is an interesting idea. And while I would be interested in seeing this play out either way, the question of who Brosnan would play is most pressing. By that I mean, would he return as an all-new character? Or would we have a former 007 now in the role of the villain. Similar to the way Brosnan faced off against fellow MI-6 agent Alec Trevelyan in Goldeneye.
I would be much more interested in the latter scenario, but as I said above, I’d take Brosnan’s return either way.
