Pirates of the Caribbean – Lee Arenberg Says A Sixth Film Is Being Discussed

Personally, I hold Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl to be one of the best films of all-time. With great writing, casting, acting, costumes, and sets I think it’s a near-perfect film. I also love how it’s a pirate movie, but instead of the crew searching for a treasure, they’re already found it and are trying to put it back.

The franchise now has five films, with rumblings of a sixth heading our way. Lee Arenberg, who played Pintel in the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films, says the idea of a sixth movie is being tossed around. While speaking on the Kendall Talks TV YouTube channel, Arenberg had the following to say.

“They’re definitely talking about it, as far as I know.”

Arenberg also mentioned that he would love to reprise his Pirates role.

“I mean yeah, of course, obviously. But they’ve already done two without us [laughs]. I love it, though, I love that part. But it’s not up to me.”

I know a lot of people are tired of these films, but if Disney decides to make another one, it’s a safe bet I’m going to be watching it, I just hope that Johnny Depp somehow finds his way back to the franchise.

I enjoyed the last Pirates film, Dead Men Tell No Tales (more than the On Stranger Tides anyway) and thought Javier Bardem’s Captain Salazar was a really good villain. However, the first three films, the ones directed by Gore Verbinski still reside at the top of my list and likely will for some time.
