Gerard Butler has saved many people in many films he starred in. This time around, he is an airline pilot in Plane that must protect his passengers from a destructive lightning strike in the skies and then armed rebels on the ground. No one messes with Butler.
The film also stars Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Yoson An (Mulan), Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Paul Ben-Victor (The Wire), Remi Adeleke (Transformers: The Last Knight), Joey Slotnick (Twister), Evan Dane Taylor (X-Men: Apocalypse), Claro de los Reyes (Memorial Day), and Tony Goldwyn (The Last Samurai). Jean-Francois Richet (Assault on Precinct 13) directed the movie from the screenplay written by Charles Cumming and J.P. Davis.
Here is the official synopsis:
In the white-knuckle action movie Plane, pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) saves his passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island—only to find that surviving the landing is just the beginning. When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI. In order to rescue the passengers, Torrance will need Gaspare’s help, and will learn there’s more to Gaspare than meets the eye.
