Rainn Wilson Says He Would Love To Appear In A Reunion Special For The Office

I would venture a guess that I’ve seen The Office seven, eight, maybe even nine times through. Now some of these viewings the show was on in the background while I surfed the web, or wrote articles such as the one I am writing right now.

One of my favorite shows, The Office is the television version of comfort food. It’s also one of the few remakes of a British TV series that is as good, or as some would argue, better than the original. For some time now, talk of a reunion has been making the rounds.

It seems like most cast members would be onboard with revisiting Dunder Mifflin. One such cast member, Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight K. Schrute for nine seasons on the show recently spoke with Collider and talked about a potential reunion, you can check out what he had to say below.

“I’d love to revisit The Office. I’ve told [creator and showrunner] Greg Daniels that I would love to do something. They’re gearing up for putting it on Peacock. Maybe someday we’ll do something. It’s funny, I hear things like, ‘We can’t do anything because we ended this show perfectly, and we don’t wanna do anything else.’ But then, someone will send some idea that’s just preposterous and I don’t know what to think. Hopefully, one day. The fans would really love it. That’s the thing that counts the most. The fans would really love to see those characters again and have an experience with them.”

An episode in Seaason 9 of the show served as a backdoor pilot for  spin-off  series that would have seen Wilson return as Dwight Schrute in a spin-off series titeld, The Farm. For better or worse the series wasn’t given an episode order.

I of course would be all in on an Office reunion, though reunions of popular television series are bittersweet in that viewers get to catch up with beloved characters and then say goodbye to them all over again, and this time it’s most likely for good.
