Ratings Continue To Drop For The Walking Dead

Rating continue to fall for AMC’s The Walking Dead. Once the highest rated show on television, the series has seen a significant drop in viewership over the last couple of seasons and Sunday’s episode brought in the lowest total to date. The second episode of Season 9, fell 19% from the season premiere, bringing in only 5 million viewers. The episode also experienced a loss of 21% in the 18-49 demographic.

I’ve talked a lot about how the past two or three seasons were difficult to watch, and that I was really only continuing to watch because I have quite a bit of time invested in the show. Somehow, I feel the show is even more of a chore to watch than before. The show has always been about our group, the viewers’ group. Now that group is in the midst of a break-up and it simply isn’t easily to watch.

I have always taken the title of the show to be referencing not the zombies, but the survivors, because it’s only a matter of time until they’re dead. I recently came to the realization that the show’s title s now referencing itself, which if you ask me is, sort of hmm…
