Ray Fisher Vs DC: Final Round – Fisher Confirms He’s Out Of The Flash! [UPDATED]

[Update to Fisher Vs DC: Final Round]

WarnerMedia chair and CEO Ann Sarnoff issued a statement in response to Fisher’s latest post.

“I believe in Walter Hamada and that he did not impede or interfere in the investigation. Furthermore, I have full confidence in the investigation’s process and findings. Walter is a well-respected leader, known by his colleagues, peers, and me as a man of great character and integrity. As I said in Walter’s recent deal extension announcement, I’m excited about where he’s taking DC Films and look forward to working with him and the rest of the team to build out the DC Multiverse.”

Original Story

I think we all knew where this was going, well, maybe Ray Fisher didn’t based on his previous comments? Yes its Ray Fisher Vs DC: Final Round. Last week The Wrap ran a story saying that Ray Fisher was out of The Flash and out as Cyborg. Considering the week before this Fisher had told DC boss Walter Hamada he would never work for him again, this was hardly surprising.

However, Fisher then replied to The Wrap asking them to look at their story (and writer Umberto Gonzalez) because Fisher had heard nothing about being out. Umberto stuck to his guns and then shared a statement on the ongoing investigation of Fisher’s claims. Essentially WB said that they consider the matter closed.

So last night, Ray Fisher took to social media to confirm he was out of The Flash after all. You can read his statement below, before I make any comments. Though, surely now Fisher owes Umberto and The Wrap an apology? I mean they were right, Fisher did get sacked, they just revealed the news before the actor was told officially himself. I call that good reporting myself honestly, whereas Fisher said their report was false.

Fisher Vs DC: Final Round

There is a lot more specificity here than we have had before. In fact Fisher actually goes one step further here and accuses Geoff Johns of racism, Hamada of trying to cover up, and more. I am certainly not surprised that Ray Fisher has essentially been written out of The Flash because of his comments. However if what Fisher says is true, perhaps WB are trying to sweep some of this under the carpet and Fisher is being made to pay the price? The key thing here seems to be evidence, is there any, and if so why is no one else coming out?

Fisher says that Cyborg’s role in The Flash was bigger than people know. What version of The Flash are we talking about though? The Flash has gone through the hands of multiple creatives until finally landing at the door of Andy Muschietti. Was Ray Fisher included in all these script rewrites, i.e was he told by Muschietti he had a big role? It is possible that Fisher could be referring to one of the previous versions like the one from Lord and Miller?

Again, we just don’t know enough detail. Fisher tells us everything and WB tells us nothing, so we really only get one side of the coin here. So Fisher is out as Cyborg, as we knew, but he wants to take Hamada and Johns down with him. Is this Fisher Vs DC: Final Round or are we going to move into a tie breaker eventually? Guess we will find out in time.
