It wasn’t too long ago that Rick and Morty fans weren’t sure if the show would be renewed. The fans were then to news that not only was the show renewed, but it had been renewed for a whopping 70 more episodes. Production on Season 4 has now officially begun. Co-creator of the show, Justin Roiland (who voices both Rick and Morty) recently spoke with Polygon about how it feels to be back producing new Rick and Morty stories.
“It’s exciting, it’s a little surreal. Even just being in the writer’s room for half the day every day this week, the ideas are … it’s going to be great.”

Roiland also mentioned that Rick and Morty will no longer be taking the long hiatuses between seasons that the show has become known for.
“We want the episodes to stay good, but we do also want to try to turn them around a little quicker now that we have this big order, I think it gives us the ability to be faster. We’re not going to do these long breaks, these chasms in between seasons anymore. We’re going to schedule vacation time and just keep the machine going. It’s going to be really cool.”
Fans will be pleased to know the show has more or less found a schedule and the time between seasons will be more regular than just some random amount of time. While no premiere date for the fourth seasons was given, the show is expected to return sometime early next year. Finally, new Rick and Morty is being made!
