Robert Downey Jr Rumored To Return In Disney+ Series In Voiceover Role

Robert Downey Jr. has only just made his great exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we’re already hearing rumors about his inevitable return. I mean, I’m sure plenty of us assume that eventually, he’ll come back in a small capacity, even if it’s not as Tony Stark proper. This new report comes from the outlet We Got This Covered, so remember to bring your own grains of salt.

According to the same source that told them about Ewan McGregor returning as Obi-Wan, Marvel Studios is looking into doing an Ironheart Disney+ series, starring teen genius Riri Williams who continues Tony’s legacy.

Robert Downey Jr. would be expected to return in voiceover form as the suit’s A.I., not unlike what we got with J.A.R.V.I.S. and Friday in previous MCU films.

As I mentioned above, I think many of us assumed Downey would return in this way at some point, but the fact that it’s being brought up this early (if this report is true) is a bit surprising. Then again, with the way these projects are planned, it may still very well be another five to 10 years before it would happen anyway.
