It’s no shock to anyone the close friendship Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans formed during their work together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After their first team-up in 2012’s The Avengers, the two have shared hugs, pecks on the cheek, comedic jabs, and social media posts to each other over the years. Even in the buildup to the heavy Captain America: Civil War, the two—along with the Scarlett Witch herself Elizabeth Olsen—were featured in a quick spoof trailer where the two are at odds over the last red, white, and blue-sprinkled donut.
Even as [SPOILER ALERT] their tenure in the MCU came to an end in Avengers: Endgame, the two are still very much a bromance. Earlier today, RDJ took to his Twitter and Instagram accounts to wish Evans a happy birthday:

Evans tweeted back crown and heart emojis to his Marvel BFF in response. Later on, Evans tweeted to all his followers, thanking them for their birthday wishes and presented them with another one of his Throw Back Thursday headshots.

In their post-MCU days, both Evans and RDJ are already making moves for their future endeavors. Evans has his sights set on developing a political news and information site that rivals the bias and propaganda that riddles the web. Meanwhile, RDJ revealed recently that he will be forming the Footprint Coalition, a foundation set on cleaning up the environment using new, highly-advanced technology. It seems that even without their shield and armor, Evans and RDJ are continuing to follow the standards and ethics of the characters they portrayed on the big screen.
May the RDJ/Evans alliance last a lifetime.
