Robert Downey Jr. Still Interested In Doing Sherlock Holmes 3

Actor Robert Downey Jr is quite the busy bee. With Avengers: Infinity War set to be released at the end of next month, Downey has a number of projects he in the works and others he would like to get off the ground. Speaking recently with Entertainment Weekly, the actor discussed some of his upcoming ventures, among them and perhaps most notably, another Sherlock Holmes film.

“I’m having a good time (with The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle), though I decided to give myself, like, 40 additional challenges, like a Welsh accent — which even Welsh people say is hard to do. Then there’s all this stuff down the pike. We’re looking at another Sherlock Holmes, we’re developing Perry Mason for HBO. I still want to do Pinocchio.”

Being a fan of the two previous films, along with being a huge fan of both the work of Guy Ritchie (excluding Swept Away) and Robert Downey Jr. in general, another Sherlock Holmes film sounds a fantastic idea to me.

Sherlock Holmes was another step in reigniting Downey’s career after him being cast as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Downey was a popular actor in the 80s and 90s, but addiction led him to pretty much hitting rock bottom, but his turn around has been amazing as he is now back atop the Hollywood A-list.
