As the book readers well know, sometimes, for whatever reason, notable events don’t seem to make it into the television adaptations. The Walking Dead is no different, having several events removed or changed before they get to the screen. Show creator, Robert Kirkman was recently asked during a Walker Stalker Cruise Q&A session if there was a storyline from the show he would like to change. He had one in particular on his mind.

 “I wanna cut off Rick’s hand.”

Kirkman also made a joke about killing Carl, twice.

Even if one doesn’t read the comic books, most fans of the show know some of the different storylines that take place in the books that were left out of the show, including Rick losing a hand. The Rick in the show has yet to be Skywalkered, and this fact seems to weigh pretty heavily on Kirkman’s mind. While we can only speculate while Rick still has two hands, it may be for the upcoming battle against The Saviors, a one-handed Rick would be at an incredible disadvantage during a time when the group needs him the most.

The show has really struggled over the last season and a half. Experiencing a noticeable drop in ratings. I have watched the show since Season 1 and while it still entertains, at times it is difficult to watch.

The Walking Dead returns this Sunday on AMC.
