Roberto Orci To Produce Series Based Off The Classic Arcade Game Galaga

Today news comes of another video game adaptation coming to the small screen. Roberto Orci, who is known for Star Trek and Transformers will executive produce an animated show called The Galaga Chronicles. Here is what Orci had to say in a statement:

Galaga is one of the games I played growing up. I have fond memories of the quarters and hours upon hours I spent playing the game. I look forward to working with The Nuttery and to capture that magic in an exciting new format.”

Orci is set to produce the series with Nuttery Entertainment. CEO of Nuttery Magnus Jansson:

We couldn’t be more stoked to have this level of creativity and craftsmanship on board our space adventure. Roberto’s incredible sense of story and science fiction mastery and ShadowMachine’s excellent animation and design chops have already elevated the project to the next level. I think we are sitting on an amazing origin story for Galaga that will not disappoint fans of the game, or of science fiction in general.”

Galaga is an arcade and Atari classic. It was super popular back in the days of arcades, for those not old enough to remember what an arcade is, it was a giant building with many, many, games inside that one could spend all day playing. Lots of people my age have spent hours and hours playing Galaga, The game has even been brought to modern consoles, available to play on both the Xbox One and the Playstation 4. The series is said to be comprised of a 12-episode first season
I will definitely give this a chance when it airs, but currently, The Galaga Chronicles has no home. When is the last time you played Galaga? Let us know in the comments down below!
