If you’re a fan of The Mandalorian you were treated to something truly special with this week’s episode. The live-action debut of Ahsoka Tano. In my opinion, the episode was some of the best Star Wars content to come our way in a long, long time. Most of us were likely surprised by the episode revealing Ahsoka right away. Even though we loved it. Thanks, Dave Filoni. Rosario Dawson was fantastic as Ahsoka. Dawson took to her Twitter account to celebrate the character becoming par of live-action Star Wars. It was awesome to hear Ahsoka talk about Yoda (she never met Yaddle?). And even though she didn’t mention him by name, we all know she was speaking of Anakin when explaining to Mando why she wouldn’t train Baby— sorry, I mean Grogu.
I really hope we haven’t seen the last of Ahsoka. I seriously doubt they would bring in someone such as Dawson and only use her once. Who knows which other Jedi we may cross paths with during the course of the series. A nice touch was keeping with Ahsoka’s lightsabers being slightly different lengths. As they were in the animated series.
I”ve said before that The Mandalorian will be looked back upon as the series that saved Star Wars. And I still fully believe that. A great show with a different setting as most of the content, but keeping with, if not enhancing the space western feel. On that note, I again suggest somehow incorporating the bounty hunter, Cad Bane, into the series. He would be a perfect fit.
