After going through a few writers and directors Indiana Jones 5 seems to have settled on both. While not much is known about the upcoming film, director James Mangold may have revealed when the film will be set. In a tweet that you can see below, Mangold says that all the films he is currently working on are all set during the same decade.

The Velvet Underground are fucking great.
That's it. That's my tweet.(Note — I'm mentally living in 60's NYC right now cause that's where all the movies I'm working on take place.)

Interesting. This would make some sense as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was set in the 1950s. The film also featured a noticeably graying Harrison Ford. And with Ford being 12 years older now, it would fit that the upcoming film would be set roughly a decade later.
Indiana Jones was the first trilogy I watched as a child. I didn’t get around to completing Star Wars until I was about 10. I’ve known Indiana for a long time and absolutely love the franchise.
Once again, my idea for a perfect Indy 5:
- Indiana Jones searches for and finds the Fountain of Youth
- Toward the end of the film, Indy fights the villain
- During the struggle, Indy falls into the Fountain
- Indy emerges from the waters as the new actor chosen to take over
Though without Mangold specifying, it would be best to treat this as a big old grain of salt.
