With the film said to be attempting to start filming by early next year, a supposed plot synopsis for the Obi-Wan anthology film has surfaced. TMZ claims they have a production bulletin from the film, which on the bulletin is titled, Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story. Take this as a rumor, but the bulletin also has a synopsis for the film which follows below.

“Obi-Wan is on Tatooine being an elusive hermit and stuff, but secretly watches over an infant Luke Skywalker, whom he delivered to his uncle, Owen. Tensions between the local farmers and a tribe of Sand People — headed by a ruthless war chief — eventually brings Obi outta hiding.”

So Obi-Wan is going to be a mediator between local moisture farmers and the Sand People? Not exactly sure that idea excites me. Though I am not sure what else could be done if Obi-Wan is confined to Tattooine for the entire film. The Obi-Wan from A New Hope seemed to lead a pretty boring life watching over Luke, but there has to be some adventure in there somewhere right?

It’s worth mentioning that this synopsis is incredibly similar to that of John Jackson Miller’s 2013 novel, Kenobi.

It does appear as if the timeline would allow Ewan McGregor to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and at least for me, that is a huge plus. Remember, the status of this information is still just a rumor.
