Yes, we finally know that Russell Crowe is Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder. The veteran actor was revealed to be in Thor some time ago, but we had no idea who he would be playing. Now we know that Marvel Studios are introducing the Greek Gods into their Universe and chief will be Russell Crowe as Zeus. The below version is the only I can currently find as the original post has now been deleted. So thanks to @tlatnews, have a listen below to what Crowe has to say about Thor: Love and Thunder. This actually lines up with a leak I read recently for Thor: Love and Thunder. This was one of your usual dismiss quickly 4Chan plot summaries. However, at the time, Crowe playing Zeus was unknown. So maybe there is something to it? I’ll mention a few points below with a potential SPOILER tag if interested, since it’s totally unconfirmed at this point. As opposed to a recent No Way Home plot leak which was backed up by several insiders.

However, it’s just cool to have Crowe in the MCU isn’t it, I mean What better actor to play Zeus for Marvel? My instincts tell me that this will not be Crowe joining up for a variety of movies, but more of a one-off type thing. However, who knows for sure right now?

The plot summary I saw which mentioned Crowe would be playing Zeus also indicated that he won’t stick around for long. This leak said that Gorr the God Butcher who is played by Christian Bale is systematically killing of the Gods. He apparently kills Zeus and also kills the various actors playing the parts of Hela, Thor, and Loki. In the real world those actors are Matt Damon, Melissa McCarthy, and Luke Hemsworth, and we know all three reprise their unnamed roles as Asgardian actors. The idea here being that Gorr is mistaken in killing them, when he really wants Thor. Hey, what’s a God Butcher gonna do but cut up some God fools?
I won’t go further just in case, but really this could just be good guess work. After all, other fans had wondered whether the Greek Gods could show up. Then when Crowe was attached, fans guessed it could be as Zeus or Hercules. Add to that the fact we know Bale is playing a character called Gorr the God Butcher and before you know it we got some fan fiction. Decide for yourself, but it’s not clear enough for me yet.
