Interviewed after the Oscars one of Ironheart‘s actors confirms Black Panther director Ryan Coogler’s involvement in Ironheart. Extra TV caught up with Anthony Ramos at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party. When talking about the upcoming Ironheart show, Ramos name drops Coogler. Although we know Riri Williams makes her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, directed by Coogler, there has thus far been no mention of Coogler’s involvement in Ironheart. Until now that is.
Extra TV: “You’re about to join the MCU, that’s a huge family.”
Ramos: ‘I am and I’m excited. I’m so excited. I’ve been wanting…yeah, I used to be like in the gym, I’d be like, ‘Come on Marvel call, come on Marvel call, let’s go!’”
Extra TV: “Yeah, you finally got the phone call. You are already part of that family because once you’re
in, you’re in.”Ramos: “Yeah that’s what we hope for. I feel blessed. It’s an amazing project. Incredible people, Chinaka Hodge and Ryan Coogler, and just like a dope squad, Dominique Thorne and I feel blessed and grateful.”
Ramos does not say what the role of Coogler is in the show. However I assume we could be talking about a producer or even writing credit for Coogler? Chinaka Hodge, also mentioned by Ramos, is the showrunner of Ironheart. We already know that a Wakanda based Disney+ is also being developed by Coogler. It is assumed but not confirmed that Coogler will serve as showrunner on that project.
Coogler’s involvement is not a huge surprise given where Williams debut is. However this is still news that hadn’t come out prior to this interview being published. Fell free to watch the video for yourself, if you prefer, below.

Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, the character who developers her own advanced Iron Man style suit called Ironheart. It may well be that the Wakandan connection to Williams will allow her to make her suit even more advanced, (Vibranium) than Tony Stark’s Iron Man suits. After all, you get the feeling if he hadn’t made the sacrifice play, Tony would have eventually made a suit of Vibranium Armor.
We also have to factor in the Armor Wars show into this speculation. Will Williams be involved in Armor Wars, or will that show serve as some kind of set up for Ironheart or vice versa?
Until we hear more about Ironheart your speculations are as good as anyone else. What do you think of Ryan Coogler’s involvement in Ironheart confirmed by Anthony Ramos? Thoughts in the usual spot as always.
