Scream VI | Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding on the Core Four

The Scream franchise has brand new legacy characters with the Cour Four in Scream VI.

With the original survivors from Scream (Scream 5), Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin), and Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin) return to the next installment of the long-enduring franchise.

This cast is joined by two other veteran actors of the franchise, Hayden Panettiere (survivor of Scream 4) and Courteney Cox (the only person who has appeared in all of the Scream films). The rest of the cast includes Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed the film from the screenplay by James Venderbilt and Guy Busick based on the characters by Kevin Williamson.

Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, who played the brother-sister duo on their return to the franchise.

Jasmin Savoy Brown currently is playing the teen version of Taissa in the Showtime survival drama Yellowjackets. She is best known for her role in the critically acclaimed HBO drama series The Leftovers as Evie Murphy. For two seasons, she starred in the Shonda Rhimes courtroom drama For the People. Her other credits included Will, Stitchers, Grey’s Anatomy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Grimm.

Mason Gooding started his career with appearances on television with episodes in Spring Street, The Good Doctor, and Ballers. Then the opportunity came knocking with Booksmart, as Nick had Gooding making his mark in the industry. Then he was in the comedy Let It Snow and one of the stars in the series Love, Victor.

Scream VI is in theaters on Friday, March 10.
